Portal 2 review
PC/XBox 360/PS3
"Get off that stupid game" could well be one of the common terms heard from your parents if they feel you've been spending too much time on a videogame and one you will definitely hear when playing the latest and greatest game from Valve Software, Portal 2.
However, if such phrase is uttered from the mouths from the aforementioned parents just ask them politely to sit down and interact with the world of Portal and we'll see just how stupid Portal 2 is after ten minutes of pure confusion from your parent's face. Portal 2 is a fantastic game and will definitely make you a smarter, better person for getting involved. I literally haven't enjoyed physics in videogaming this much since its sister title, Half Life 2.
If however, you are the said parents in question who may yell such a phrase then be one step ahead of the game and go out and get yourself a copy of Portal 2. Play it when they're at school just so you can be prepared to quickly solve the puzzle in question when he or she is inevitably stuck so you can ensure that they are down those stairs before the dinner goes cold.
Portal 2 had the whole internet's expectation weighing down on their shoulders after the original Portal being a side order to the main dish but you'll be safe in the knowledge that Portal 2 is not only worth 12 hours of your time but also worth whatever price tag you see on the front (but it should be about £35, depending on platform).
You are armed with a contraption which is capable of essentially placing doorways also known as "Portals" where ever you see fit in order to solve the riddles laying ahead of you, that's right there is nothing to shoot from your point of view, it really is one of a kind series which I think should be experienced by the entire gaming industry.
Anymore talk about this game is probably unnessecary as you are no doubt aware of its behemoth sales figures of four million in its first week but if you don't know what I am talking about I am here to let you know that you are missing out on one of the many reasons why videogaming is better than television.
10/10
